Charmaine Robin

Chair, 2025 Heroes in the Community Gala
State Farm Agent | Mentor | Community Advocate

Charmaine Robin migrated to the United States in 1982 from Jamaica, West Indies. That same year, she married her husband, Marcel, and the couple settled in Tampa, Florida, where they lived for ten years. While in Tampa, Charmaine worked for the 13th Judicial Circuit as a Counselor for victims of violent crimes, providing critical support to individuals navigating trauma and recovery.

In 1991, the Robin family moved to Bloomington, Illinois, after Marcel was promoted to the Corporate Headquarters of State Farm Insurance. Charmaine joined State Farm Insurance Company as a Claim Representative in the Life/Health department. When the family relocated to New York in 1995, she transitioned into Auto Claims, continuing her service with State Farm. In this role, Charmaine worked closely with State Farm Public Affairs and became actively engaged in numerous community initiatives.

Charmaine’s dedication and leadership culminated in her becoming a State Farm Agent on October 1, 2007, based in Uniondale, New York.

She holds the prestigious RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional) designation, reflecting her commitment to helping individuals plan for long-term financial security.

A passionate mentor and youth advocate, Charmaine served as a mentor in the Baldwin School District from 2000 to 2010 through a program sponsored by The Mentoring Partnership of Long Island, in collaboration with State Farm. In May 2006, she was one of the first mentors selected to receive an award from the National Mentoring Partnership in Washington, D.C. She was also invited to speak before the Federal Mentoring Council on building successful mentoring relationships.

Charmaine continues to invest in future leaders. High school seniors intern at her agency, shadowing her and learning the fundamentals of business ownership. Through this work, she inspires young men and women to develop strong self-confidence and prepare to enter the world as empowered entrepreneurs.

In alignment with her passion for education and empowerment, Charmaine established The Charmaine Robin Scholarship for Excellence—awarded annually to a graduating female student from Uniondale High School who aspires to become an entrepreneur and actively serves her community.

Charmaine’s legacy of leadership extends through her family. Her husband, Marcel Robin, is also a State Farm Agent in Jamaica, NY, and their son, Marcel Sean Robin, operates a State Farm Agency in Astoria, NY. Through their son, Charmaine and Marcel gained a daughter-in-law, Marisa, and are proud grandparents to Mila and Mackenzie.

As Chair of the 2025 Heroes in the Community Gala, Charmaine brings a deep sense of purpose, vision, and love for her community. While her professional accomplishments are numerous, she proudly considers her family to be her greatest achievement—the foundation that grounds her lifelong commitment to service.
